A famous sound art piece, in this project Alvin Lucier played a recording of his voice and played it back into the room in which it was recorded. Each time it is played it is re-recorded, until eventually speech is nullified, lost in the resonant frequency of the room. Sometimes described as a recording of a space, I include it here for other reasons. Lucier suffered from a speech impediment, and part of the poignancy of this piece is in the mechanical erosion of the inconsistencies in his speech patterns.
